Etymology traces the origin of the Spanish phrase “La Vida” to ‘vivir’, which means ‘(the) life’. With the purpose of enhancing residents’ quality of life through holistic wellness features, TATA Housing has begun work on La Vida ‘estate residences’ in Sector 113, Gurgaon, close to Dwarka Expressway. In a previous article, Propstory had brought updates during pre-launch phase of the project (2016) and wrote extensively about the benefits of the location, highlighting the uniqueness of La Vida and other projects by TATA Housing. The last week our team was in Sector 113 again to explore the qualitative parameters that define wellness living at TATA La Vida. The project already has a pre-certified “Gold” rating from the Indian Green Building Council. In addition to achieving larger goals like conservation of energy, IGBC also aims to ‘enhance occupants’ health, happiness and overall well-being’ by incorporating green building features that foster a pollution-free environment. The project has also received it RERA registration No. 148.
Phase 1 of the project comprises 6 towers B1-B6, where bookings have already started for towers B1-B4. Blocks A1 and A2 would be part of Phase 2. A visit to the on-site sales gallery provided comprehensive information on the wellness features such as:
- Apartment specific – Advanced air and water purifiers, Vitamin-C infused showers and use of non-toxic paints. To begin with, they are being introduced in apartments in Tower B1.
- Applicable to Common areas – Over 1000 trees in a 6+ acres central green area and in sunken gardens; fruit orchards; water plazas and lily pool; elevated skywalk with tree-houses, and a Club house which has spa, steam and sauna along with gym, swimming pool and sports amenities
In place of opulence and external grandeur, day-by-day the focus is shifting towards leading a sustainable lifestyle and promoting responsible luxury through environmentally-conscious communities. The design of the sales gallery itself resonates with the overall wellness theme nestled in green environs. As of July 2017, earthworks have commenced on site and La Vida estate residences would be delivered less than 4 years from now, by early 2021.

TATA Housing’s endeavour is to create a nature-friendly atmosphere at a site which is strategically located between Delhi and Gurgaon. Sector 113 indeed has excellent connectivity via a network of arterial roads.
In future when infrastructure development speeds up and traffic in this area escalates, living amidst 12 acres of sprawling greens with 1,000 trees at La Vida may be akin to winning a health-lottery!
TATA Housing is leading the way by incorporating an average of more than 80 trees per acre, proving their commitment to wellness living at TATA La Vida.

In sync with these objectives, as discussed earlier, the project has already attained a “Gold” rating by the Indian Green Building Council for incorporating nature-friendly features. A pre-certified “Gold” rating implies national level of excellence in key areas of sustainable design and planning such as:
- Site Selection and Planning – situated in proximity of transport nodes, such as Dwarka Sector 21 Metro at 8 km, which takes 18 minutes to reach. New metro station is proposed within 3 km of the site.
- Water Conservation – water retention ponds and rainwater harvesting
- Building Materials and Resources – best of the class materials sourced within local limits
- Indoor Environmental Quality – worth noting is the use of air and water purifiers, and non-toxic paints in interiors

Wellness Living at TATA La Vida : External Landscaping
Outdoor areas are indispensable to healthy living as they provide avenues to stay healthy. The three major elements of nature – namely earth, aqua and the firmament. are invoked through herbal gardens and stepped seating, water plazas and lily pool, and elevated sky-walk with tree houses – have been invoked in the external landscaping features.
To soothe drawn-out senses after a long day at work and commute, TATA La Vida is providing sunken gardens and grass terraces where users could meditate or read. The 1000 trees and green central area of more than 6 acres, lined with jogging trails and landscaped pathways amalgamate both recreation and comfort of the highest order.
Other interesting and novel features incorporated in the development plan include fruit tree bosques (forested orchards), feature wall, art installation plaza, party lawn and barbecue lawn, which will make regular life eventful within a dynamic and vibrant community.
