Walking along the LBS road, I switched on the GPS in my phone to navigate my way to the Wadhwa Address. Before the GPS could detect my location, I found the huge entrance of The Address staring at me, located right opposite R City Mall. Impressive location, check. I started walking towards the main gate, where the security was doing their job well, ensuring they were letting the right people inside. Good security, check. Once inside, they told me to get into an electrical car to reach the office, the site was quite large. Huge horizontal area, check. In a metropolis like Mumbai, which is famous for its vertical structures on small plots of land, The Address is like a breadth of fresh air. Located in the heart of a bustling suburb like Ghatkopar, The Address is spread over 18 acres of land parcel. The site context makes one wonder how livable can the area be, with the busy LBS road in the north, Godrej Boyce Company in the east and the Central Railway line in the south. Yet, with 65 percent of the entire area being used as open and recreational spaces, The Address has managed to create a pleasant, green and airy living space.

The site of The Address is well connected to all parts of the city through various modes of transport. The approach road to the site, LBS Road, is a major arterial road of Mumbai which connects Thane to Sion. The Eastern Express Highway is 2.5 km away while JVLR is 4.7 km away from the site. Vikhroli (6.1 km) and Ghatkopar (2.1 km) are two major train stations on central line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network (local trains in common tongue). The Ghatkopar Metro station is 2.1 km away from the site, which connects the central suburbs to the western.

Living at The Address can never be a problem, as it has a well built social infrastructure around it. While one of the biggest malls in Mumbai, the R City Mall lies right opposite the site, it is also in proximity to hospitals such as Sarvodaya Hospital (1.6 km), Nulife Hospital (2.1 km), Samarth Hospital (2.5 km), Godrej Memorial Hospital (5 km) and schools such as Dominic Savio High School (2 km), SaraswatiVidyaniketan (1.3 km), Sarvodaya School (2.9 km), Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College (2.1 km).

The entire site has been divided into four smaller projects, Boulevard, Vista, Panorama and Promenade. Three have been completed, while the fourth, Promenade, is an under construction project. Each comes with their own recreational areas and swimming pools. There is a common club house offering various amenities like spa, sauna, Jacuzzi, multipurpose hall, squash court, indoor games, mini theatre and a gymnasium.

The Promenade is situated at the extreme end of the L shaped site, while the other end is the entrance to The Address. The project has 4 buildings, Promenade 1, 2, 3 and 4. Each building has 22 floors. Promenade 1 and 4 have four flats per floor [with 3 lifts and 1 staircase], while Promenade 2 and 3 have 8 flats per floor [with 4 lifts and 2 staircases]. The configurations on offer are 2 BHKs, with 627 sq. ft. area.

Considering 2 BHK apartments each unit at the Promenade is a well-designed unit, which is neither too big nor too small but just the right size. Each apartment is naturally well lit up due to large windows. One of the bedrooms has an L shaped window which widens the viewing dimension as well. The master bedroom has two windows, both on opposite walls which aids in cross ventilation. Normally, a passage is the darkest area of the house, which needs artificial lighting.  In these apartments the passage has a large window, which allows it to be lit up naturally as well as aids in cross ventilation.

The Address is a flagship project by The Wadhwa Group, with Promenade as their latest offering. They are acknowledged for developments such as Platina at BKC, Solitaire at Powai and Palm Beach Residency at Vashi . They have been in business for over 45 years and delivered over 10,000 homes across a massive 10 million sqft of area. The L shaped land parcel lies stark in the middle of three important activity hubs of the city. The LBS road in the north, Godrej Boyce Company in the east and the Central Railway line in the south. Yet as I took a walk around the entire site, the asymmetric play of the green patches kept me interested and made me walk further. The water bodies at certain intervals added to the visual appeal and relaxed the overall atmosphere. All this, along with the wide walkways left me in no doubt when they claim that 60 percent of the entire site of The Address is open area.

The backbone of a good location are two things:

The entire project has been divided into four building clusters. The first cluster which greets us as we enter The Address is Boulevard. It has 4 buildings, having 6 apartments on each floor. There are 4 lifts and 2 staircases as per the norms. The configurations on offer are 2.5 and 3 BHK with areas ranging from 1046 sq. ft. to 1276 sq. ft.

The Panorama, apt for its name, is situated right at the centre of the L shaped site, offering a 180 degree view of the entire area. The configurations on offer in this building are premium 4 BHK apartments.
