Even we have been writing about numerous infrastructural initiatives here – Santa Cruz Chembur Link Road (SCLR), Sion Panvel Expressway, Eastern Freeway, Monorail and Metro at Ghatkopar. If you can relate to Mumbai’s geography you will understand that Chembur is connected to different parts of the city through one or the other mode of travel. Shell Colony is sandwiched between Kurla East and Chembur West. Its location is very strategic, three railway stations – Tilak Nagar, Chembur and Kurla are near by. Also it is close to Tilak Terminus which is an origin point of several long distance trains. One can get onto SCLR in 5-8 minutes drive from Godrej Central project. And it might take 10-15 minutes to reach Eastern Freeway entry point. When driving one can access the site from SG Barve Marg which is a relatively crowded junction or come through the service lane on highway and enter Sahakar Nagar from there. The SG Barve entry is very crowded however once nearing the Godrej Central site the road opens up wide enough and abundance of greenery also astounds you. Adjacent to Godrej Central plot there is another project, Godrej Prime, which is under development too. Total land area of the project is 3.64 acres (approx.) on which 10 towers of upto 15 stories will be constructed. In all about 420 apartments of 1, 2, 2.5 and 3BHK configuration are planned.

The sizes of apartments range from about 750 sq ft to 2,000 sq ft for different configurations. Amongst the amenities is a centrally landscaped garden, multipurpose center court, fully equipped gym, banquet hall and a jogging track. Following their earlier designs Godrej will provide connectivity to internet, TV and phone in all homes and these wires will all be concealed. If you have been to some of the projects being developed by Godrej in Mumbai including Godrej Platinum, Vikroli the finishes are high specs and lend a distinct feel to an apartment, we guess the same promise for the project here as well. While we were there we could witness construction in full swing. Secondary market rates are quoting at about Rs. 16,000 per sq ft to Rs. 18,000 per sq ft of sale area.

More about the location – BKC is about 9 km away while Lower Parel is 12 km by road. One can shop at local stores or travel to Phoenix Market City mall at Kurla which is about 4 km away. From here even markets of Ghatkopar and Chembur are easily accessible given proximity to Eastern Express highway. Some of the famous schools of Eastern suburbs – St. Gregorious, Loreto Convent and SGKM International school are within radius of 5 km. TISS and Somaiya College are also in the vicinity of Godrej Central.

And as the Company puts it “Spend more time at home than at office”, with Chembur gaining from easy access from all of Mumbai, Godrej Central might just be aptly placed to be significant beneficiary of this.
